Getting there

Montréal to Marrakech

The most direct arrival if the Red City is the heart of the trip. You are in the medina less than an hour after landing.

What a direct arrival changes

Marrakech airport sits about twenty minutes from the medina. After a transatlantic flight, that difference matters more than you expect.

If your stay is short, or if you start with two or three days in a riad before heading for the Atlas, arriving directly saves you half a day.

The season, honestly

March is the most searched month in Canada, and demand on this route follows the same curve. June is noticeably quieter.

Summer in Marrakech is very hot. That is not a reason to stay away, but it completely changes how you plan a day: early morning, late afternoon, and indoors in between.

Your first day

Plan nothing serious. The medina is walked, it is dense, and the time difference is real.

The best first move is to walk to the Koutoubia, get your bearings, and leave the rest for tomorrow.

Common questions

Is Marrakech airport far from the medina?

No. Allow about twenty minutes by car to the edge of the medina, depending on traffic.

Which month has the highest demand?

March, in Canada. It is the annual peak of interest in Marrakech, and spring departures get booked over the winter.
